Abstract


Modern society has been aging by an increase in life expectancy and a decline of birth rate, and it is a global trend. The
proportion of the elderly population aged over 65 in Korea is also rapidly increasing. Therefore, the importance of healthy
life of the elderly has been magnifying more and more. Body requires various nutrition to maintain its health. Eating is one of the most important factors for maintaining the health. Poor nutrition intake of elderly people has a great influence on the deterioration of quality of life and physical and mental functions. In this review, we investigate eating and nutrition which have a big influence on the physical and mental health of the elderly, the relation with oral health, and how to manage it.
